Muddiest Point - 10/16/10

Of course I leave this post to the last minuit but I am having trouble proposing my topic for the final project (Option 2 - Solo Paper) because I'm not quite sure how to even go about putting this paper together.  I am most interested in metadata issues with the Google Books Project.  Would it be appropriate to study their issues and compare them to issues other digital libraries have had with their metadata, entry (either manual or automatic), acuracy, etc. and then compare the processes, outcomes, etc.?  Is this too adventerous?  I will have a proposal handed in but I wanted to be sure you knew I had serious questions about this paper.  Much appreciated!!

Muddiest Point - Week 4

For our assignment due next week I know we are allowed to use blogs, online articles, print articles, etc. but are we allowed to use YouTube videos?  I found a 30 minute lecture by Lawrence Lessig entitled "Google Book Search: Fair Use?" and found it very interesting.  May I use this or any other recorded sources?

It took me a while of playing around with Microsoft Office Picture Manager to realize that what I had originally done the first time I tried to shrink the pictures down was what I needed to do in the first place.  I liked learning about how to use this feature, however, becasue I send a lot of photos to family overseas and this will help me upload more pictures to an email when I have space limiting issues.
